The 1998 Le Mans poster marks the beginning of a new era in Le Mans posters which is generally referred to as "The mythic inspiration of the race" and which lasted from 1998 to 2000.
Design of the 1998 Le Mans poster was in the hands of the Grise agency and was based on a photograph by Takeo Hibino.
This poster marks a break in relation to the previous decade and Symbolism in back!
The car is not identified but graphic work on the image adds an air of overall mystery...
Please note that the start was at 14.00H instead of the usual 15.00H due to "competition" of the Roland Garros tennis tournament.
It again features the slogan "La legende s'ecrit devant vos yeux" which loosely translates into "The legends is written before your eyes".
The race was won by Laurent Aiello, Allan McNish and Stephane Ortelli in their # 26 Porsche 911 GT1-98 with a total of 351 laps to their name.
For the full results of this race, please see 24 Heures du Mans results 1998.
This poster will be shipped, rolled, in a sturdy tube.
